All content on this site is original, often imitated elsewhere
on the web. We take all photographs oursevles unless otherwsie noted. Most of
the photos are of plants we have grown and flowered. Unlike other sites, we
will not tell you that masdevallis are warm growing when they are not, we do
not confuse phragmipediums and pahiopedilums, nor mislabel dendrobiums photos
as phalaenopsis. You will also not find upside down photos of orchids on our
website, unless in fact, thery flower upside-down as a few orchids
do!
Yassir Islam, the owner, is a former President of the National
Capital Orchid Society in Washington D.C. He has won awards for his slipper
orchids from the American Orchid Society and has spoken on orchid
cultivation. He has also judged slipper orchids at the Tokyo Grand Prix,
probably the most prestigious orchid show in the world.
We were formerly argusorchids.com, one of the best orchid
boutiques on the web. We lost our .com domain name when it expired and
someone else "grabbed" it.We are using this new site to continue to share our
valuable orchid photo database and cultural/hybridizing information with you.
We no longer sell orchids commercially. Please enjoy your visit and come back
